Seal Overview
The Privacy Verified seal is designed for those who run an email list, collect email subscriptions or generally require users to hand over information to perform a task or service. Typical examples include newsletter signup pages, web design "get a free quote" pages, shopping carts requiring private user details for shipping or payment, and websites attempting get a user to perform other actions such as sign up to an newsletter or even sign an online petition.
The Privacy Verified seal quickly demonstrates to your user that you will not sell, give away or rent the information they provide to your website, ever. You are allowed to supply user data in an aggregated, non-personally identifiable way, to a third party for statistical or marketing purposes. We absolutely do not allow, and will blacklist any website found supplying information of individual users to anyone in exchange for profit or services.
To qualify for this seal
Your business website must have a privacy statement on your website stating how you handle user data and what you may do with it. In certain circumstances, your privacy policy may not be immediately visible to the general public. In this case we will ask how and where users are able to read through your privacy statement.
If we find issues with a certain section of your privacy policy (or lack thereof), we will assist you in correcting it, and will even supply you with a personalised copy of additional sections of your privacy policy to satisfy our guidelines, and/or modifications to existing sections until your website is compliant. Our guidelines are fair and most websites qualify with minimal change.
